TxDPS School Safety Certification

$450.00

A 2-day course that covers shooting in different scenarios, how to harden your classroom, and how to determine when to hide, flee, and fight. Learn to throw various objects frequently found in the classroom to distract and deter an intruder. Watch videos of past school shootings to understand what could have been done to reduce or eliminate injuries and deaths, and eliminate the ease with which the intruder had accessing the building and classrooms. Understand the differences in how school board restrictions can be exploited by intruders and what to do to protect your students and coworkers when only one person is technically authorized to protect the entire school.

This course is for educators in public, private, and homeschool groups.

Graduates with educational degrees and current teachers who wish to take this course separately from their employer as a perk to their resumes may also enroll.

To protect school-age kids and the facilities they attend, this course is not for the general public. At the beginning of the first day of class, attendees should have some form of document to prove their status, a photo of their school ID, or their degree. *Home school group attendees must bring a driver's license or state ID.
