NRA Range Safety Officer
Already familiar with different kinds of firearms? Good, come learn about others (there are literally over 100 different types of guns), how they function, how they are assembled, and their safety issues. You'll travel from bullet to ballast in a shooting range, learning all the ins and outs of different range layouts, target systems, and ammunition retrieval systems. You'll learn to see a range with an eye for safety, everything from lighting to what could cause a ricochet to occur, to noticing excessive gun powder buildup on the floor that could lead to a flash fire. As an RSO, you are responsible for life, limb, and structural integrity within the range. Know when and how to respond to reckless or belligerant behavior of individuals and groups without getting yourself muzzle flashed or possibly shot.
